Top Solar Contractor, 2015–2026
Solar Power World, the U.S. solar industry's trade publication, has published its Top Solar Contractors list every year since 2012.
Each company submits every project it completed the previous year, with its size, location and completion date. The magazine checks those submissions against state interconnection and utility records, then ranks companies by kilowatts installed. Alongside the overall ranking, it publishes a national Top Commercial Solar Contractors list that counts only commercial, industrial and municipal work, and a list for each state. Newport Renewables has made the overall list every year since 2015 and the commercial list every year since 2018. Each entry below links to the published lists.

By 2025, Newport Renewables installed 2,817.59 kW of commercial and industrial solar and 487 kWh of battery storage, all in Rhode Island. That placed it second in the state, behind a residential installer, and first among companies serving businesses and institutions. Nationally, it ranked 125th of 248 contractors on Solar Power World's commercial list.

Rhode Island Monthly Design Awards
Every year, Rhode Island Monthly's Design Awards honor the state's best new homes, renovations and interiors, chosen by a panel of judges.
Rhode Island Monthly awarded its 2019 Silver in Residential New Construction to a South County beach house designed by KITE Architects and built by Newport Renewables. The architects shaped the house after a ship's hull, with an exterior that draws on traditional coastal New England homes.
