Overview
Lincoln School is a private, all girls, Quaker independent school for grades one through twelve.
Lincoln School partnered with Newport Renewables to install a solar array on the flat roof of its gymnasium, which needed a new roof. The 178-panel array was completed and turned online in September 2015. The solar array is expected to generate 64,400 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing 116% of the gymnasium’s annual electricity consumption. The system will offset the equivalent of 49.9 tons of carbon dioxide annually, and generate enough clean energy to power 4.8 homes each year.
