Quest Montessori School
Overview

Quest Montessori school serves 125 children ranging from toddler to grade 8.

Quest Montessori partnered with Newport Renewables to obtain two grants for a 50 kW solar photovoltaic array, and design, build and maintain the system. The solar PV array at Quest Montessori School offsets all of the school’s annual electrical consumption, and is used as a tool in the classroom to teach the students about renewable energy. The 178-panel array was completed and turned online in September 2015. The solar array is expected to generate 64,400 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing 104% of the school’s annual electricity consumption.  The system will offset the equivalent of 49.9 tons of carbon dioxide annually, and generate enough clean energy to power 4.8 homes each year.
