Furey Roofing has been the leading provider of industrial and commercial roofing services throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut for just under 30 years. To stabilize and reduce operating costs at its new headquarters, Furey Roofing partnered with Newport Renewables to install a 33 kilowatt (kW) roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) array at its new facility. The system will produce 100% of Furey Roofing's annual electricity, significantly reducing utility costs and making its new headquarters more environmentally friendly.  The 96-panel array was completed and turned online in December 2016. The solar array is expected to generate 38,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing 100% of the facilities annual electricity consumption.  The system will offset the equivalent of 29.4 tons of carbon dioxide annually, and generate enough clean energy to power 2.8 homes each year.
