A modern home designed by S. Barzin Architects of Jamestown, Rhode Island. The waterfront home feautures an open floor plan, floor to ceiling glazing, geothermal and rooftop solar array. The architect partnered with Newport Renewables to design and build the ballasted solar pv system on the new home.The 40-panel solar array was completed and turned online in October 2014. The solar array is expected to generate the majority of the home's annual electricity consumption.  The system will offset the equivalent of 8.2 tons of carbon dioxide annually, and generate enough clean energy to power 1 home each year.
